Ghana defender Abdul Baba Rahman says he opted to sign for Schalke 04 because he believes in their philosophy.
The 23-year-old joined the Bundesliga side this week in a one-and-half year loan deal from Chelsea after recovering from a ligament injury sustained last year during the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
“I am feeling very good and elated to be at Schalke again. This is a club that I know much [about] and believe in their philosophy and ambitions [that's why I came back]," Baba told Footballmadeinghana.
“We can go in the same direction and achieve greater things together. Personally, my ambition here is to play more games for a start after the long layoff. I believe I can learn more and play better than I was playing before my injury,” he said.
“I am fully fit and ready for the challenge. It’s all about determination, hard work, belief in God and self,” he added.
Baba earlier joined Schalke in a loan deal during the 2016-17 season and made 21 appearances, scored one goal and provided one assist.
