Ghana FA Cup champions Asante Kotoko have announced the signing of Guinean striker Naby Laye Keita from FC Renaissance Club De Conakry in a three-year deal.
The 25-year-old arrived for a two-week trial which turned out successful. He has become the first major signing by C.K Akonnor who took over from Paa Kwesi Fabin in October.
"Asante Kotoko have completed the signing of striker Naby Laye Keita on a three-year contract," a club's official statement read.
"The Guinean national, who joins the club as a free agent, signed contract papers at the club’s secretariat on Monday, having passed his medical last week.
"Keita has been undergoing trial with the club over the past few weeks, and his recruitment reflects the confidence coach, Charles Kwablan Akonnor, has in him," the statement added.
With Kotoko preparing for the 2018-19 Caf Confederation Cup campaign, Keita is expected to compete with Songne Yacouba, Obed Owusu, Frederick Boateng and Akwasi Nti for a starting role in Akonnor's 4-2-1-2-1 formation.
