Arsenal’s Mohamed Elneny ruled out for two weeks with injury

Arsenal have confirmed that Mohamed Elneny has suffered a thigh injury on his right leg and will be out of action for two weeks.

This comes as a blow for the midfielder who has been limited to cup games and Uefa Europa League outings as the Gunners take on Blackpool in the round of 16 of the League Cup on Wednesday evening.

Elneny has fallen down the pecking order in Unai Emery's options and he is yet to play a league match this campaign – making four appearances in the other competitions.

The setback rules him out of Saturday's crunch encounter against Liverpool, next Thursday's Europa League game against Sporting Lisbon and their home game Wolverhampton Wanderers on November 11.

The 25-year-old joins Hector Bellerin and Dinos Mavropanos as injured players expected to be back in November.
