Montemurro led Melbourne City Women to the Westfield League title in their first year of existence in 2015/2016 and also played a critical role last season as Melbourne claimed back-to-back titles.
The 48-year old is expected to be in charge of the Gunners for the first time on Saturday when Arsenal host Sunderland Ladies.
