Arsenal striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina have left the Gabon camp to return to their clubs, and will miss Tuesday’s international friendly match against Zambia.

The two flew to their respective bases on Monday, and will not be part of the friendly match scheduled for Stade de l’Amitie in Libreville.

The Federation of Gabonese Football confirmed the departure of the duo from the camp, together with injured Hammarby midfielder Serge Martinsson Ngouali.

“Gabon coach Antonio Camacho will also have to work without some key players including Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Mario Lemina. They have been made available to their respective clubs, and Serge Martinsson Ngouali was injured in the knee at training,” Fegafoot said in a statement.

Gabon are still winless in the Afcon qualifiers. Their 1-1 Group C draw with Burundi last weekend left them with just a point, having lost their opening match 2-1 away in Mali.

Now they seek to correct their fortunes with a warm-up match against a Zambia side which also drew their Afcon qualifier (in Namibia) last weekend.
