Arsenal have stepped up their interest in Bordeaux forward Malcom as they plan for life after Alexis Sanchez, Goal understands.

Arsenal are interested in signing in-demand Barcelona midfielder Rafinha, according to Catalunya Radio, via Sport.

Rafinha is looking to leave Barca in January in search of regular first-team football, and he is a target for Celta Vigo and Inter Milan.

He could be allowed to leave on loan with a view to a €20 million permanent move, with Arsenal one of three clubs interested.

Manchester United have been asked to be kept updated on former defender Jonny Evans’ situation at West Brom, reports The Times.

Manchester City have held talks over a deal for Evans, while Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has suggested his club will struggle to compete with the Premier League leaders for the centre-half.

Evans, who left Old Trafford for West Brom in 2015, remains of interest for his old club, while Everton and West Ham are also watching matters.


Has De Bruyne dropped Alexis hint?

Kevin De Bruyne may have accidentally revealed that Alexis Sanchez will leave Arsenal for Manchester City.

Goal reported on Sunday that City hope to sign the Chilean in the January transfer window and are in on-going negotiations with Arsenal, with all three parties keen to find a resolution.

And De Bruyne may have suggested a deal is all but done when he was asked about the possibility of Alexis moving to City this month, saying: "When he comes he will add something to the team."

Giroud not interested in China or Turkey

Olivier Giroud has no interest in leaving Arsenal for a club in Turkey or China, his agent says.

Giroud, 31, has been linked to Everton and West Ham recently, while Turkish giants Fenerbahce are said to be interested in him.

But his agent Michael Manuello told Le Figaro: "[Turkey] does not interest him. China either. Leaving to earn more money is not what's important in his mind."

Ancelotti wanted to replace Wenger

Carlo Ancelotti is a ‘serious candidate’ to replace Arsene Wenger as Arsenal manager at the end of the season, according to the  Evening Standard.

Wenger signed a new two-year contract in 2017, but Arsenal are concerned the long-serving Frenchman may decide to leave at the end of this season.

If he does, then Ancelotti, who was sacked by Bayern Munich in September, is a leading option to take charge, although the Italian is also a possibility for his former club Chelsea should Antonio Conte quit his Stamford Bridge post.


Arsenal join Liverpool & City in Pavon chase

Arsenal have joined Liverpool and Man City in the chase for Boca Juniors forward Cristian Pavon, reports the Daily Mail .

The 21-year-old striker has turned heads with his performances for the Argentine giants, and has been compared to Alexis Sanchez. 

Pavon is said to have a £27 million release clause, and is likely to be named in Jorge Sampaoli's Argentina squad for the World Cup in Russia.


Lemar will cost at least £90m

Liverpool and Arsenal will need to spend at least £90 million to land Thomas Lemar from Monaco, according to The Mirror .

Lemar turned down a £90m move to Arsenal on deadline day in August, and Monaco are set to begin the bidding for the 22-year-old's services at that figure.

Monaco are open to selling Lemar in January, as the French side side are out of the Champions League and far off Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1.

Arsenal are ready to finally open up contract talks with Jack Wilshere, the Mirror claims. 

While hints at a new deal have been floating for a while , the new report suggests that the Gunners are finally ready to offer a new deal now that Wilshere fit and in good form. 

The new deal may see the midfielder take a cut in base pay, with playing incentives making it possible for him to actually earn more money under the new terms.

Despite intense speculation surrounding a potential move to Manchester City, Alexis Sanchez will start Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg at Chelsea, reports The Guardian.

City have submitted a £20m offer to Arsenal for Sanchez, whose contract with the Gunners expires at the end of this season. 

Pep Guardiola's side are confident of landing Sanchez for free in the summer but with Gabriel Jesus out for two months with an injury, City are hoping to acquire Alexis in January.

Thomas Lemar has returned to the top of Arsenal's list of candidates to replace Alexis Sanchez in January, reports the Mirror .

Alexis has seen speculation over a move this window grow in recent days, with Manchester City appearing the most likely destination. 

And the Monaco star, closely followed by the Gunners, could move before the end of the month if a deal for the Chilean is struck.

His current club, however, are likely to hold out for a mammoth £90 million to make any move happen.

If he and Croatia perform well, the report states, then offers are likely to multiply.
