Up to six Australian players could make their Socceroos debuts in a friendly against Korea Republic on June 7 after coach Graham Arnold revealed a new-look squad.

With a number of green and gold stars rested after busy seasons in Europe, Arnold has turned to a strong A-League contingent to see which players are ready to step up to the national team ahead of World Cup qualifying.

After winning the A-League grand final with Sydney FC, Sky Blues duo Andrew Redmayne and Brandon O'Neill have been handed their first Socceroos call-ups alongside Melbourne Victory keeper Lawrence Thomas.

Craig Goodwin, Matthew Spiranovic, Terry Antonis, Dimitri Petratos and Josh Brillante meanwhile have all also been recalled to the side after solid domestic campaigns.

"The upcoming camp and friendly international in Korea Republic provides us the opportunity to expose more players to international football, which is vital as we prepare for a long qualification campaign," Arnold said.

"We have seen how arduous the previous World Cup path was for our squad and it is imperative that we spend this valuable time together to have a close look and some of our next generation.

“We have eleven players in this squad who have all had excellent seasons in the domestic competition and my message to those playing in the Hyundai A-League is that if you are playing regularly and consistently for your club, you will come into consideration for the next phase of World Cup qualifiers."

Other notable inclusions in the squad include Stoke City defender Harry Souttar and German-based striker Brandon Borrello with both eyeing off their first Socceroos appearances.

Adam Taggart and Brad Smith have also sealed their returns to the squad after impressing in the K-League and MLS respectively.

The Socceroos clash with Korea Republic will be their first hit out since losing 1-0 to the UAE in the Asian Cup quarter-finals in January.

Paulo Bento's side also lost in the Asian Cup quarter-finals but have since claimed wins in their two friendlies against Bolivia and Colombia

Australia and Korea Republic met in a friendly last year with the green and gold salvaging a 1-1 draw in injury-time.
