Angola forward Dolly Menga joins Livingston from Blackpool

Newly promoted Scottish Premiership side Livingston have announced the signing of Dolly Menga from Blackpool.

On Monday, the Angola international joined the Almondvale Stadium outfit on a two-year deal having been training with the side over the past weeks.

Menga teamed up with the Seasiders in November last year as a free agent and made eight league appearances in the 2017-18 season before his departure from the side.

Reacting to the move, Livingston assistant manager David Martindale is excited with the signing and he is hoping they can secure international clearance for the forward ahead of their game against Hibernian on Saturday.

“Dolly has been in the pipeline for a week or so and was in training with the club last week. He really impressed and we were keen to get him on a contract,” Martindale told club website.

“He can play on either wing but predominantly the right and can play up top as a 9 or second striker. He is a strong, powerful player with a great turn of pace. Dolly also has 10 caps for Angola and is the current National team captain.

“We are awaiting international clearance for Dolly and he should be available for Saturday.”
