Ahmed Ahmad rescues Mathare United from drowning in Mombasa

Mathare United came from a goal down to force a one all draw against Bandari FC at Mbaraki Stadium on Saturday.

William Wadri gave the home side an early lead from the spot penalty after Mathare United committed a foul in the danger zone.

Martin Ongori brought down Hassan Abdalla in the 31st minute and the Ugandan converted the resulting penalty.

The visitors continued pressing for an equalizer, but things did not go their way and they had to wait for Ahmed Ahmad to come and rescue his side with a late equalizer that ensured that Francis Kimanzi picked four points from the Dockers this season.

In another match played on Saturday, Wazito failed to impress against Sofapaka at Camp Toyoyo.

The 2009 league champions kicked-off the match on a high note and were rewarded in the 18th minute when former Nakumatt striker, Kepha Aswani finished Umar Kasumba's inch-perfect pass. 

Stephen Waruru , who joined Sofapaka I January from Ulinzi Stars made it 2-0 just three minutes from a result corner kick.

Wazito, who have lost close to a dozen players this transfer window, looked lost, especially in the first half. At Mumias Complex, Tusker FC showed their intentions to bounce back from their inconsistencies after downing Vihiga United 2-0.

Jackson Macharia gave the Brewers the lead a few minutes after the break after a perfect free-kick came off the bar.

Collins Shivachi ensured the Robert Matano grabbed maximum points by hitting the back of the net with thirty minutes to go.
