Amid talks of a move to Europe’s top five leagues, Percy Tau’s representatives Titan One Sports are looking to place the highly sought-after attacker elsewhere.
The Mamelodi Sundowns marksman has been tipped for a potential move to either Ligue 1, the Premier League, Serie A or Bundesliga and was also quoted as saying he favours a move to La Liga in Spain.
But his representative Brett Norman believes the 24-year-old would be best suited in a league outside the top five.
“Yes, it’s no secret that Percy has interest from Europe,” Norman told Goal.
“I have seen a lot of talk about the big five leagues in Europe.
“Personally, I don’t think that is the best route because African and European football is completely different.
“There is a belief that you can just place a player anywhere in the world and they will play exactly the same, that’s not always the case.
“We believe a league outside the top five in Europe would be ideal, it would give Percy the time to adapt on and off the pitch without the pressure. Then after 1-2 years, I have no doubt he can go onto one of the big leagues, concluded the English-based agent.
The Bafana Bafana international recently completed a stellar season for the Brazilians that saw him finish joint top goal scorer -with Rodney Ramagalela- with 11 goals each.
He also registered 15 assists, and two other goals in Cup competitions, completing the season with an impressive tally of 38 appearances, 13 goals and 17 assists across all competitions.
His efforts saw him named Footballer of the Season and Player’s Player of the Season at the Premier Soccer League Awards recently.
