Agent: Bafana Bafana striker Tokelo Rantie has offers from South Africa and Scandinavia

South Africa striker Tokelo Rantie is not short of suitors according to his representative, Denis Celebic.

Rantie and his Turkish outfit Gençlerbirliği SK parted ways, albeit in controversial fashion with reports suggesting that the Super Lig side had to seek Fifa’s intervention after he absconded the club.

But his agent, Celebic of Q-Evolution Global Football Network, has since shed light on the reason for Rantie’s departure from Turkey and also provided an update on his future.

“Tokelo didn’t force an exit from Gençlerbirliği,” Celebic told Goal.

"He terminated his contract with the club because he wanted a new environment and he needed to play. That’s why they went separate ways," he continued.

“The major course for termination was purely that he wanted a new environment and at the moment, he is in South Africa, training hard and weighing his options," added Celebic.

“He has enormous potential and I am certain that the next club he signs for, he will show his full potential," he said about the former Orlando Pirates marksman.

When quizzed on the 27-year-old’s options, Celebic could only confirm that there is interest from both Scandanavia and Africa.

“He is a free agent and he hasn’t decided where he will go next,” Celebic revealed.

“There is interest from both Scandinavia and South Africa, but it his choice to decide where he wants to go, and when he is ready, he will choose the club," he concluded.

Rantie had a successful spell with Swedish side Malmo FF, whom he left for a record fee to join English side Bournemouth AFC at the start of the 2013/14 season.

At the Cherries, he managed just five goals in three seasons, before joining Gençlerbirliği, He left the Turkish club having made 30 appearances and scored six goals.

Rantie has been linked with Premier Soccer League (PSL) club Cape Town City.
