Obafemi ditches Nigeria for Ireland


Southampton youngster Michael Obafemi has declared himself 'all in' for Ireland despite indications his international future will still be up in the air after the international break.

The Dublin-born attacker was raised in London and has Nigerian parents, thus, making the Super Eagles and England national team options for the teenager.

Obafemi was an unused substitute in Thursday's goalless friendly between Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Mourinho requests Koulibaly signing


Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has proposed a move for Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly.

Metro claims that Mourinho has told the club hierarchy of his desire to bolster his back-line with the £88 million-rated Senegalese who recently extended his stay with the Italian outfit till 2022.

Barcelona are also reportedly interested in signing Koulibaly who played in all of Napoli's matches this season. 


Demba Ba to A-League?


Demba Ba was spotted in Sydney earlier this week and his latest destination has raised hopes that he could be joining an Australian top-flight club as a marquee signing in January.

After helping Shanghai Shenhua finished seventh in the Chinese Super League this year with five goals from 17 games, the former Chelsea star will be out of action until March when the 2019 season begins.

However, Wellington Phoenix who are in need of a striker have been tipped to move for the Senegal international after failing to sign Nigeria's Obafemi Martins and Ghana's Michael Essien in the off-season.

Ranieri wants Matip as first Fulham signing


New Fulham boss Claudio Ranieri wants to sign Cameroon defender Joel Matip in January, according to A Spor .

The Cottagers currently languish at the bottom of the Premier League table and Ranieri who replaced Slavisa Jokanovic this week, is aiming to sign the Liverpool centre-back to improve his team's defence.

Fenerbahce are also interested in signing the 27-year-old defender who has made just one Premier League start since the beginning of the 2018-19 season.


Man Utd to release Bailly in January


Manchester United will allow Arsenal target Eric Bailly to leave in January, according to  Telegraph .

The Gunners face competition from rivals Tottenham Hotspur for the former Villarreal defender as Unai Emery looks to reinforce his back-line.

Bailly has fallen out of favour under Jose Mourinho and he is yet to make an appearance since the Red Devils' 3-2 comeback win over Newcastle United in October.


Diawara on AC Milan's radar


AC Milan are considering a loan move for Napoli midfielder Amadou Diawara in the Janaury transfer window, Tuttosport reports via Tuttonapoli .

The Rossoneri have shortlisted the Guinea international as a replacement for Lucas Biglia who is recovering from a calf injury.

Diawara who is under contract at Stadio San Paolo until June 2021 has struggled for regular playing time this term.


Slimani unhappy at Fenerbahce


With three goals so far in 13 games, Leicester City loanee Islam Slimani is not happy with the situation of things at Fenerbahce, Foxes of Leicester claims.

The 30-year-old who is on a season-long loan move from the King Power Stadium is worried that his unimpressive form might get him axed from the Yellow Canaries after Morocco duo Nabil Dirar and Aatif Chahechouhe were demoted from first-team training.


Balde to leave Inter Milan at the end of the season?


Inter Milan have no intention to sign Keita Balde at the end of his temporary stint for €34 million following his unimpressive start to life at the San Siro Stadium, reports Calciomercato .

The Senegal international who is on a loan from Monaco is yet to break his duck for the Nerazzurri after 13 matches.

Consequently, Luciano Spalleti's side are not ready to activate the option to buy permanently when his loan deal ends in June 2019.


Premier League clubs line up for Brahimi


Everton, Newcastle and West Ham are interested in signing Yacine Brahimi on a free transfer, according to O Jogo .

The Algeria international will be out of contract at Porto at the end of the season and will be free to negotiate with clubs outside of Portugal from the start of next year.

The 28-year-old has tw goals in 14 appearances across all competitions this season.


AC Milan plan loan deal for Benatia


AC Milan are nearing a loan deal for Juventus centre-back Medhi Benatia who has struggled for playing time this season.

Sport Mediaset via Calciomercato reports that Milan could sign Benatia on loan with an obligation to purchase the defender for €15m next summer.

Arsenal and Manchester United are also reported to be monitoring the Morocco captain.


Arsenal turn attention to Pepe


Arsenal have turned their attention to Lille winger Nicolas Pepe following Danny Welbeck's horror ankle injury, according to the Sun .

With Welbeck expected to spend months on the sidelines, Unai Emery is ready to step up the Gunners' interest in the £45 million-rated star who is also on Bayern Munich's radar.

Pepe has contributed eight goals and five assists in 13 Ligue 1 outings this season.


Drogba retires from football


Didier Drogba has drawn the curtain of his football career after Phoenix Rising were defeated 1-0 by Louisville City in the United Soccer League Cup final.

The defeat at the Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium marked the end of Drogba's trophy-laden career which included four English Premier League titles, four FA Cups and a Uefa Champions League trophy amongst others.

Obiang gets Equatorial Guinea call-up


Equatorial Guinea have called up West Ham United midfielder Pedro Obang for their 2019 Africa Cup of Nationa qualifiers against Senegal.

Obiang, born in Spain, is eligible for Equatorial Guinea through his family as both his parents and grandparents are from the African country.
