AFC Leopards chairman optimistic ahead of Gor Mahia tie

AFC Leopards chairman Dan Mule is confident Ingwe will win the highly awaited ‘Mashemeji’ derby this weekend.

The two teams are meeting for the first time this season, with no clear favourite considering both sides are in great shape. But Mule says his team has an upper hand of winning the bragging rights against their bitter rivals Gor Mahia.

"I am optimistic that we will manage to collect maximum points if our form is anything to go by. We have been doing relatively well and the players are up to it and they have assured me they will do their best. It is a match we want to win to show that we are in for the title," he told Goal.

The 12-times league champions are currently placed fourth on the log with 14 points after managing four wins, two draws and two losses. The team has been boosted by the return of defender Dennis Sikhayi who has been out for three weeks.
