AFC Leopards marked their home debut with the Argentine coach Rodolfo Zapata with first half brilliance that saw them score two goals, but failed to bag maximum points as brave Nakumatt came from behind to salvage a point.

The tempo was set  right from teh opening minute when Nakumatt defenders failed to clear a long ball that fell on Moses Mburu, but the 'little cub' failed to keep his shot low.

Leopards looked unstoppable and took  just five minutes to take the lead. Jeffary Owiti did well to go past the shoppers defenders, and in their bid to clear the ball, it fell kindly to Whyvonne Isuza who unleashed an unstoppable shot past former Ingwe captain Lucas Indeche.

Nakumatt sensed defeat was on course unless they did something; it prompted them to up their tempo and as a result won a free kick about forty yards from Leopards goal, but Brian Nyakan could not get his target right.

In the 17th minute, Ezekiel Owade was called into action to deny Mohammed Nigol who had struck the ball from outside the eighteen yard area.

After near misses by both sides, Isuza struck again in the 37th minute. Owiti burst forward from almost the middle of the pitch, fooled the defenders and back heeled the ball for Isuza to coolly slot home the second goal.

The shoppers came back stronger in the second half, trying to get back into the game, and the intent was made clear in the 57th minute when Anthony Kisiavuki unleashed a good shot that was well handled by Ingwe custodian.

substitute Cornelius Juma was well played in and his fierce shot was parried away by Owade.

On the other side, Owiti continued to push for a third when he almost got one after a perfect counter attack, only to be stopped by Indeche. A few minutes later, Indeche was called into action again, this time stopping Ezekiel Odera from hitting the back of the net.

Nakumatt ensured a tense finale when Eugene Ambulwa nodded in a corner in the 75th minute, after Ingwe defenders failed to mark him.

With seven minutes to go, the hardworking Nakumatt was rewarded with an equalizer after Robinson Kamura and Abdalla Shittu failed to stop Brian Nyakan from reaching a well floated ball into the six yard area.
