Who will make it to the AFC Champions League quarter-finals?

The AFC Champions League 2018 is boiling down to the quarter-finals as the teams get set to play the second leg of the Round of 16 stage. Here's a look at what awaits us:

Persepolis (IRN) v Al Jazira (UAE)

Iran's Persepolis are at home to UAE's Al Jazira on Monday in the second leg of their Round of 16 clash. The first leg was highly entertaining and finished 3-2 in favour of Al Jazira, thanks to a last-minute goal.

While the UAE-based side will be buoyed going into this tie, they will not take Persepolis lightly. They have two important away goals and posted three wins from three at home in the group stage without conceding a goal. Persepolis have a great record at home and Al Jazira's mettle will be put to test.

Venue: Azadi Stadium, Tehran
Kick-off: May 14, 19:30 UTC+4:30

Al Ahli (KSA) v Al Sadd (QAT)

Saudi Arabian outfit Al Ahli welcome Qatar's Al Sadd for the second leg of their Round of 16 clash on Monday. Al Sadd are leading the tie 2-1 after the first leg and are the favourites to go through.

However, Al Ahli have an away goal and can go through with a 1-0 win at home. An away goal for Al Sadd, who have the services of Xavi, would leave Al Ahli needing to score three to qualify for the last eight without the means of a penalty shootout.

It should be an interesting battle on Monday.

Venue: King Abdullah Sports City, Jeddah
Kick-off: May 14, 20:40 UTC+3

Esteghlal (IRN) v Zobahan (IRN)

Esteghlal are at home against compatriots Zobahan in their Round of 16 clash on Tuesday. However, a first leg defeat (1-0) means Esteghlal have it all to do at home.

Giorgi Gvelesiani netted a 93rd-minute penalty to seal a 1-0 victory for Zobahan and leave Esteghlal facing a potentially nervy night at Azadi Stadium. Zobahan and have a chance to progress to he quarter-finals for the first time since 2011 and will be up for the fight.

Esteghlal will need to score two to advance to the quarter-finals but should Zobahan grab an away goal then their task becomes much harder.

Venue: Azadi Stadium, Tehran
Kick-off: May 15, 20:45 UTC+4:30

Al Duhail (QAT) v Al Ain (UAE)

Qatar's Al Duhail will be in an upbeat mood ahead of their Round of 16 second leg clash against UAE's Al Ain. After a brilliant 4-2 win in UAE, Al Duhail are in control of the tie.

Al Ain will have to come up with a miraculous performance in Doha to outsmart a fluent Al Duhail team who have been outstanding at home this season. They will most likely have to post a three-goal winning margin in order to advance past a side who boast the best record on the continent in the 2018 campaign.

Venue: Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium, Doha
Kick-off: May 15, 18:30 UTC+3
