The Fire Club's manager is optimistic they will be able to perform creditably well in the Caf Champions League

Ghana Premier League champions Aduana Stars will be a force to reckon with in next season's Caf Champions League, according to their manager Yussif Abubakar.

After finishing within the top four in the past two seasons, the Dormaa Ahenkro-based club clinched the title of the just concluded season with 57 points, six points above Wafa and will represent Ghana in the continent's flagship.

Last season, Wa All Stars were knocked out of the competition in the preliminary stage by Libyan side Al Ahli Tripoli on 5-1 aggregate.

“No team has been able to go far for some time and everybody is expecting that we make an impact in Caf Champions League," Abubakar said.

"Not only Ghanaians but my players and I are also expecting to do well. We won the league trophy for the second time in seven seasons and I think it's about time we challenge ourselves.

"I will congratulate everyone who in one way or the other helped in our success story. The players believed the target was achievable so I'm happy and will continue the merry making for now and perform wonders later when next season kicks off. I can say that we won't disappoint Ghanaians," he added.

Aduana will be officially handed the league trophy by the Premier League Board on November 5 at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park.
