The Fire Club have mutually terminated the contract of the Japanese coach after only two months in charge

Ghana Premier League champions Aduana Stars have announced the departure of head coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi from the club.

The Japanese came on board two months ago in a short term deal to replace Yussif Abubakar who was relieved of his duties following a slow start to the Caf Confederation Cup.

Under Kenichi, Aduana won one and lost three of the four games played in the Caf Confederation Cup group stage and thus failed to progress to the quarterfinals.

"Kenichi is no more the coach of Aduana Stars after the emergency meeting today," Oppong told Goal.

"We didn't sack him since it was a mutual termination of contract. He was brought on board to help us in the Caf Confederation Cup and save the situation after the exit of our former coach," he added.

Oppong denied reports that the decision was reached because the Japanese coach abandoned his duties midway through the game against Raja Casablanca.

"The decision wasn't taken because of his actions in Morocco during our game against Raja Casablanca. Although he went to sit in the stands after the first half, he did his best for us even when we finished last in our group," he said.

Kenichi previously had stints with Hearts of Oak and Inter Allies.
