Porto 6-2 Vitoria Guimaraes: James Rodriguez hat-trick helps Dragons to quadruple

Despite missing leading goalscorer Falcao, Andre Villas-Boas' men lifted their fourth trophy of the season with a stunning win in a high-scoring Portuguese cup final
Porto completed an historic quadruple as they brushed aside Vitoria Guimaraes in a thrilling Taca De Portugal. James Rodriguez was the star of the show with a superb hat-trick in a 6-2 win at the Estadio Nacional in Lisbon.

The Europa League winners made a flying start, taking the lead in the third minute when Fernando Belluschi's shot was deflected into the path of James Rodriguez, who made no mistake.

Guimaraes equalised when Alvaro Pereira helped the ball into his own net but their joy was short lived as Silvestre Varela restored Porto's lead barely a minute later after volleying home a Rodriguez cross from the left.

However, the outsiders fought back once more to level the game at 2-2 courtesy of Edgar Silva's header when he was left unmarked after Anderson's free-kick. From then on, the Portuguese champions ran riot, scoring a further three goals without reply before half-time.

Set-pieces were key throughout and when Maicon's header was kept out by an acrobatic save from Nilson, Maicon was alert to poke home the rebound on 35 minutes.

Hulk then scored an incredible strike three minutes before the break, when he caught Nilson napping at his near post and found the net direct from a corner before a break from the Brazilian striker down the left led to James Rodriguez's second goal.

Colombian winger Rodriguez put the icing on the cake as he completed his hat-trick on 73 minutes after fine build up play involving Hulk and Varela. Porto's Taca De Portugal win comes after they won the league, Europa League and Portuguese Super Cup.
