Porto After Fiorentina Winger Mario Santana - Report

Fiorentina winger Mario Santana has attracted the interest of Porto.
Argentinian winger Mario Santana could be on his way out of Serie A side Fiorentina as Portuguese table toppers Porto have shown an interest in signing the attacking midfielder, if a report in Record is to be believed.

The Europa League hopefuls are in the market for a new winger because of the ongoing uncertainty about the future of Cristian Rodriguez and head coach Andre Villas-Boas supposedly sees Santana as the perfect replacement.

The 28-year-old Santana joined Fiorentina from Palermo in the summer of 2006 and has since made close to 100 official appearances for the Viola. However, the midfielder has been struggling to secure regular first team football this term and could therefore be on his way out of the club.

Santana's current contract with Fiorentina runs until the summer of 2011, meaning that he could leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season.
