Lille's Eden Hazard: Barcelona's Lionel Messi does not have the elegance Zinedine Zidane & Michel Platini had

The 20-year-old has voiced his opinion that the Argentina international is the best footballer in the world, but also says he preferred the way the former Juventus stars played
Lille attacking midfielder Eden Hazard believes Barcelona star Lionel Messi is the best player in the world, but feels the Argentine lacks the "elegance" of Zinedine Zidane or Michel Platini.

Messi is one of the favourites to win the 2011 Fifa Ballon d'Or and would be only the second player - Platini being the first - in history to win the prestigious award three times in a row.

Yet, while Hazard admits Messi is the greatest player in the world at present, he says the Barcelona man is not as graceful as two former French masters.

"One thing is clear; Messi is the best player around at the moment. However, in my opinion, he does not have the elegance that Zidane and Platini had," Hazard was quoted as saying by Extra-Time.

The 20-year-old then looked back at last year's Ballon d'Or awards and stated that Inter's Wesley Sneijder should have won the trophy rather than Messi.

"Last year, Sneijder was the one who deserved it most. And if he didn't get it, players like Xavi and Andres Iniesta were strong candidates."

Iniesta finished second in last year's vote, while Xavi had to settle for third spot.
