Olympique Marseille have started talks with Bordeaux for France midfielder Alou Diarra.
RMC Sport reports progress is being made for his transfer and a deal may be struck for €5 million.
Diarra, 29, who has played for the Girondins since joining from Olympique Lyonnais in 2007, has agreed to a four-year contract at the Stade Velodrome.
Any subsequent progress could leave the door open for Bordeaux to make a bid for Sochaux's Kevin Anin as a replacement for Diarra.
France Football reports that the 24-year-old Anin is tied to his current club until 2014 and it will take a €5m bid from Bordeaux to land him.
Current Girondins coach Francis Gillot is eager to bring his former pupil with him after a spell together at the Stade Bonal.
