Olympique de Marseille midfielder Charles Kabore has indicated that les Phoceens have already put their disappointing midweek form behind them as they face up to Ligue 1 leaders Saint-Etienne on Saturday night.
Humbled 2-0 by Chelsea in midweek, Marseille will aim to bounce back swiftly against les Verts, who have confounded expectations by starting the season in magnificent form, led by Dimitri Payet, who has seven goals in as many games. Kabore is not especially fazed by les Stephanois’ excellent early season performance.
“Chelsea's already forgotten,” Kabore explained, according to the LFP’s official website. “We've turned our attentions to Saint-Etienne. We know what we have to do and we're ready. Saint-Etienne are a quality side but everything depends on what we do out on the pitch.
“We need to fight for every ball, be strong in every challenge, have more desire than them. I'm sure we can get the points. I'm lucky enough never to have lost against Saint-Etienne.
“I wasn't even born when they were the best team in France, but I still have a lot of respect for them as a club.”
Despite their lofty league position, Sainte are not styling themselves as favourites for the match, with midfielder Laurent Batlles indicating earlier this week that his side are facing France’s strongest outfit.
