Juninho, the Olympique Lyonnais playmaker whose contract with the French club expires this summer, could be set to join Qatari outfit Gharafa, according to media reports in Qatar.
Details are as yet unclear, but it seems the Brazilian, such a fans' favourite in Lyon, is set to be offered a salary of €2.5 million after tax, as Al Gharafa, who are the league champions and cup holders in Qatar, look to become more significant on the wider Asian stage, with improved performances in continental competitions reportedly an aim.
The player is reportedly in Qatar for a medical now, after also being linked with a move to Italian club Genoa in the last few days.
However, it now looks even more likely that the 34-year-old, a man who has enjoyed such a fantastic career at the Stade Gerland, will be doing his best to improve the quality in one of football's fast growing Asian hotbeds.
