According to Assabah newspaper, Mohamed Ali Ghariani is set to leave Club Sportif de Hammam Lif this summer for FC Istres. The player has reportedly secured a three-year contract with the side, which have earned promotion to France's Ligue 2 for next season.
Ghariani had a short but unconvincing spell at Club
Africain before he was released by the Tunis based side. He joined CSHL this
season and proceeded to score five goals, one of which ironically came in a 3-1
win that ended up costing his former club the league title.
Known for his speed and acceleration, Ghariani’s
performances in the domestic league earned him a call-up from Tunisia
coach Humberto Coelho. The Portuguese trainer used him as a substitute during
the Carthage Eagles’ important World Cup qualifying win over Kenya in Nairobi
on March 28.
The 26-year-old had recently completed a successful trial
at German Bundesliga 2 side SpVgg Greuther Furth and was also coveted by Le
Havre, but has apparently opted for Istres instead.
