TEAM NEWS: Sterling starts up front against Arsenal

Contract rebel Raheem Sterling will lead the line for Liverpool against Arsenal, despite having admitted he is "flattered" by interest linking him with the Gunners.

Injury to Daniel Sturridge has seen Brendan Rodgers revert to playing Sterling in attack, with Mario Balotelli not even on the bench for Saturday's trip to the Emirates Stadium.

Sturridge is among the Liverpool substitutes, with Philippe Coutinho and Lazar Markovic likeliest to provide attacking support to Sterling in a side heavy on midfielders.

Arsene Wenger, meanwhile, has recalled Mesut Ozil to the starting line-up, replacing Danny Welbeck, while Hector Bellerin comes in for Calum Chambers.

Arsenal: Ospina; Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal; Coquelin, Ramsey; Cazorla, Ozil, Alexis; Giroud.

Subs: Macey, Gibbs, Gabriel, Flamini, Rosicky, Walcott, Welbeck

Liverpool: Mignolet; Can, Toure, Sakho; Markovic, Allen, Lucas, Henderson, Moreno; Coutinho; Sterling.

Subs: Jones, Johnson, Lovren, Sturridge, Manquillo, Borini, Brannagan.
