Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini makes two changes to the side which drew against Premier League strugglers QPR.

Matija Nastasic starts at the back for the Premier League title holders alongside Joleon Lescott, who also faces a potential international appearance mid-week as England face Brazil.

Samir Nasri is left on the bench alongside Carlos Tevez, with Edin Dzeko and Argentine Sergio Aguero being the chosen strike partnership as Manchester City look to close the gap on the league leaders.

For Liverpool the side which drew against Arsenal remains the same apart from one change at the back for the Reds, with teenager Andre Wisdom being withdrawn and replaced by Spaniard, Jose Enrique.

Jordan Henderson will be looking to make it three goals in as many Premier League games for the Merseyside club, whilst upfront Sturridge is once again partnering Luis Suarez, who will be looking to add to his tally of 17 Premier League goals this season.
