Manchester United Defender Rafael Charged With Improper Conduct By FA

Rafael Da Silva, Manchester United's Brazilian full-back, has been charged with improper conduct by the FA.

The charge relates towards the players conduct towards match official Mike Dean following his dismissal in United's 0-0 draw at White Hart Lane against Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.

Rafael was shown two yellow cards, the first for a tough challenge on Wilson Palacios, the second for a debatable trip on Benoit Assou Ekotto, which Sir Alex Ferguson refused to comment on.

The player has until 6pm on January 18 to respond to the charge.
