John Barnes believes Liverpool could hire Kenny Dalglish as a permanent replacement for Roy Hodgson, should be bring take the club forward in a positive direction.
The Scot was brought in as a replacement for the former Fulham boss, who was sacked following a series of unfavourable results and performances saw him lose the support of the fans as they regularly called for his head, with regular chanting for Dalglish's second coming.
"If they do well enough I think he will stay [in charge]," said Barnes, according to The Mirror.
"But let's get to the end of the season first and see how they do.
"They will improve and I expect Liverpool to be in a better position than where they are now. Then of course there is a decision to make.
"So it really does depend on how well Kenny does between now and the end of the season."
