Sunderland have set their sights on Inter midfielder Sulley Muntari, according to sportal.tv.
The Black Cats, who currently sit in sixth place in the English Premier League, believe the 26-year-old is the perfect fit to reinforce their midfield. The club appear to be willing to pay the player's salary over the next few months in order to have him on loan until June.
Should he join Sunderland, Muntari would link up with Ghana international team-mate Asamoah Gyan at the Stadium of Light.
A move is not a certainty yet as although Muntari was only sparsely used by Rafael Benitez, the player intends to discover whether he is in the plans of new Nerazzurri boss Leonardo.
Tottenham Hotspur are also rumoured to be interested in the former Portsmouth and Udinese workhorse.
