Everton Defender Phil Jagielka On Schedule For Injury Return

The centre-back expects to be back in November...
Everton defender Phil Jagielka is still on schedule to return from injury in November.

Jagielka has been recovering from a cruciate knee injury sustained against Manchester City in April.

The former Sheffield United defender has admitted to finding the process frustrating, but is looking forward to his team-mates returning to pre-season training as he works his way back to full fitness.

“Everything is on schedule,” Jagielka told the Liverpool Daily Post.

“It’s a long process which is starting to get to me a little bit but I’ve got to keep smiling.

“The rest of the boys will be back in soon enough and they will have some stories and a bit of banter to keep me going for another month or two.

“I’ve seen 'the Yak' [Yakubu] around, plus 'Bainesy' [Leighton Baines] and Victor [Anichebe] have popped into the training ground as well, but when everyone is back I’m sure the days will go a lot quicker.

“I’m still looking at November. I go to see the specialist in four weeks and he will give me an idea how it is all doing."
