Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho, along with his compatriot Deco, is reportedly close to a move to Italian giants Inter, who are coached by his former manager at both Porto and Stamford Bridge, Jose Mourinho.
Inter president Massimo Moratti confirmed that his club were in negotiations yesterday to bring the pair to Milan, but Carvalho has since revealed that nothing is as yet certain about the proposed transfer.
"Inter have expressed their interest," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "But the two clubs have to reach an agreement so there's a lot of work left to do and then they need to speak to me because I have a contract with Chelsea."
The much-discussed Mourinho link may not be as significant as many are suggesting either, with the defender going on to reveal that he is yet to discuss the situation with his former mentor.
"I have not spoken to Mourinho in a long time and I have neither spoken to our new (Chelsea) manager (Carlo Ancelotti)," he said.
"Next week I will meet the club and discuss my future."
With a new manager coming into the club and talented English youngster Michael Mancienne waiting in the wings, Carvalho looks set to drop further down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.
