Martin Petrov Will Stay At Manchester City - Agent

Manchester City forward Martin Petrov, the talented left-sided creator whose campaign last season was disrupted by a severe knee ligament injury, is set to remain with the club, despite reported interest from Everton and Tottenham Hotspur in acquiring the player's services.

Interestingly, it is the presence of manager Mark Hughes at the City of Manchester Stadium that is the deciding factor in the winger choosing to remain with the club, with the Bulgarian international a keen admirer of the Welshman, who has endured some fairly intense criticism from some quarters.

"I think he will be staying at City, he has a contract with them," Franco Moretti, Petrov's agent, is reported as saying by Sky Sports.

"I think he will stay at Eastlands for sure, because the coach (Mark Hughes) is staying there.

"He is a big fan, so he will definitely stay at City."

City have already added England midfielder Gareth Barry to their squad this summer in £12 million deal, with further recruitment anticipated.
