Arsenal are intent on keeping hold of fledgling Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey as they are not prepared to grant Arsene Wenger's young gun a loan spell away from the club in order to aid his development, according to Cardiff City chairman Peter Ridsdale.Ridsdale has revealed that he attempted to bring Ramsey back to Ninian Park but was told by Arsenal that the youngster, who has featured only intermittently this season, will not be allowed to leave the Emirates Stadium.
He told Western Mail, "I have asked, but my understanding is that Arsenal won’t let him out on loan."
While all the pre-season hype surrounded local up-and-comer Jack Wilshere, who eventually disappointed in the first-team and was duly demoted back down to the youth and reserve sides by Wenger, Ramsey slipped under the radar but put in some sturdy displays as he was often utilised in the League Cup as well as the closing stages of games in the Champions League.
Ridsdale's revelation may be deemed as proof that Wenger is looking to continue Ramsey's development himself, potentially blooding him into further first-team duties next season.
