Nikola Zigic Reiterates Premier League Desire

Valencia forward Nikola Zigic has underscored his interest in becoming a Premier League player.

The towering Serbian striker returned to Racing Santander on loan in January to play regular football after he was unable to forge a place for himself at the Mestalla.

Valencia are believed to be ready to sell several players to help balance the books in the summer and Zigic is believed to be one of them. Blackburn Rovers have been linked with a move and Aston Villa are long-standing admirers of the ex Red Star Belgrade standout.

Zigic, 28, said “My agent made me aware that several English clubs are following me regarding next season, but there is no offer on the table.

“The Premier League is one of the best competitions in the world and it would be a good option if the sporting project was good and if I was valued on the market," he told setanta.com.

“I have heard about English interest since last season but Valencia set a price for me that cannot be dropped. I have no idea of what is going to happen this summer.

At the present time, my objective is to play well for Racing Santander and prove myself. To my mind, nobody can question my contribution since I joined the team in January," added the forward, who has an impressive tally of 11 goals in 17 games for his temporary club.

“I am a professional football and will not rule anything out. I have to return to Valencia and a decision will be taken in the summer.

“The papers are saying that they want to sell me, but I have never been told anything officially. A good offer could make me depart from Valencia.”
