Aston Villa transfer target Steven Defour has admitted he would be open to a move to Villa Park in the summer, but only if current club Standard Liege decide they want to sell.
The Belgium international midfielder has revealed he is ready to try his hand in a foreign league, but would only consider a switch to a so-called 'big club'.
"I am ready to go abroad," the 20-year-old told Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad.
"But if Standard want me to stay, I'll stay. Standard will only want to let me go to a top club.
"Villa are fifth in the Premier League, three points behind Arsenal, and that's not bad. They're an amazing club but Standard Liege must decide whether they are good enough or not."
While the winner of the 2006/07 Belgian Golden Shoe insists he will remain loyal to Les Rouches, he has suggested that the terms of his current contract might need to be improved.
"I still have a contract until 2013. But if Standard refuse an offer, they have to give me something in return."
