Under-20 Nigeria international Kenneth Omeruo set for Dutch debut

Imposing youth international centre-back at the Under-17 and U-20 level is set to start his loan stint at Ado Den Haag

Former Nigeria youth international Kenneth Omeruo, will kick start his career on loan to Eredivisie club side Ade Den Haag on Saturday.

Omeruo, who played for the Under-20 team at the junior World Cup in Colombia last year was transferred to Chelsea, but he was then loaned out to gain more experience in the Dutch league.

His debut will be against SC Heerenveen on Saturday at the Kyocera Stadion.

“I’m excited about my debut on Saturday,” said Omeruo told MTNfootball. He is billed to start on the right side of defence. “I will play at right-back even though my usual position is in central defence,” Omeruo said.

He was cleared for Den Haag earlier this week as his paperwork for a work permit was granted.

He began training with his new club on his return from Nigeria. “I have been warmly received at my new club and this has further boosted my confidence,” he added.

Den Haag have conceded 48 goals in 23 matches. They are placed in 15th place on the log, after having amassed 24 points from 23 matches.
