Togo Football Federation (FTF) on Monday published a final roster for the 2012 African Cup of Nations third round qualifying between Malawi and Togo scheduled for March 27 in Lilongwe. The big surprise was Emmanuel Adebayor’s presence on the list, when no information was received about his return to the Sparrow Hawks set up after he retired from international football early last year.
According to Savoir News, the FTF gave no details of the return of the Real Madrid striker, amid wide speculations from a number of fans and pundits, as to whether the Hawks’ former captain would truly honour the invitation.
Goal.com’s calls to Togo Sports Ministry to confirm if Adebayor would make the Lilongwe trip were unfruitful.
