Mamadou Niang Named Senegalese Player Of The Year

Fenerbahce striker Mamadou Niang has been selected as Senegal’s Footballer of the Year by the country’s national association of sports journalists (ANPS), Senegal News Agency, APS revealed on Thursday.

The 31-year-old has won the accolade for the third year in a row.

With a score of 220 points, Niang beat Marseille’s Souleymane Diawara (97), Rennes’ Kader Mangane (53), Fenerbahce’s Issiar Dia (52), and Brest’s Omar Daf (39 pts).

Niang was the top scorer in Ligue 1 with Marseille in 2009-2010, bagging 18 goals in 32 appearances.
