Sofapaka striker Allan Wanga has signed a two-year deal with Vietnamese club Hoang Anh Gia Lai FC (HAGL).
According to a report in Kenyafootie.com, Wanga travelled to Vietnam early this month to sign the contract.
The two-year deal, with an option for renewal upon its expiry, takes effect as from December 1, 2010.
“I have finally taken up the offer at HAGL and I can confirm that I have signed a two-year contract,” said Wanga.
“The club facilities are excellent and the club has treated me very well so far,” added Wanga.
The move was negotiated by Bangladesh based Nigerian agent Ayodeji Adesiyan who was in Kenya in time to see Wanga off to Vietnam.
After a season at Tusker in 2007, Wanga moved to Petro Atletico in Angola for the 2008 and 2009 seasons. He then crossed over to Europe to feature for Azerbaijan’s Baku FC until June 2010.
HAGL, who have a direct relationship with Arsenal after signing a partnership in 2007 for the establishment and operation of an elite football Academy in Vietnam, is set to begin its pre-season tour in December ahead of the next 14-team season that starts on January 22, 2011.
