Gor Mahia winger George Blackberry Odhiambo was last night named the 2010 Player of the Year in a colorful gala held at a Nairobi hotel.
‘Blackberry’ who led K’ogalo to the second spot finish in the league beat champion Ulinzi’s skipper Stephen Ochola to the top spot while last year’s winner John Baraza finished third.
Sofapaka midfielder Anthony Kimani scooped up the Midfielder of the Year Award while Ulinzi’s custodian, Francis Ochieng emerged as the Keeper of the Year.
Ulinzi’s Geoffrey Kokoyo was named defender of the Year while KCB prodigy Ezekiel Odera was named New Player of the Year.
Karuturi’s Allan Otindo was voted the Fair Play Player of the Year as well as third best goal getter with nine goals.
The Coach of the Year Award went to Ulinzi’s Benjamin Nyangweso who beat Gor Mahia’s Zedekiah Otieno to scoop the Kshs 100,000 on offer. Outgoing Tusker Coach James Nandwa came in third.
