Algeria’s assistant national team coach Zoheir Djelloul resigned his post on Thursday according to the Algerian Football Federation (FAF).

“Mr. Djelloul Zoheir has resigned as assistant national coach of the national team A. The Algerian Football Federation has accepted his resignation and thanked him for the work accomplished so far,” a statement of the FAF published on its website said.

Assistant to former coach Rabah Saadane, Djelloul had maintained his post when Abdelhak Benchikha was appointed in September, but rumours of the arrival of a foreign assistant has dominated the local media off late.
