Guinea’s local club Fello Star clinched their third consecutive league title on Wednesday after beating Athlético de Coléya from Conakry (capital) 1-0.
Long-time on top of the league table, the Middle Guinea club reached the 46 points required to become champion after defeating their rival Athlético.
Founded in 1988, Fello Star have grown to dominate older clubs in the West African country, winning the league title in 2006, 2008, 2009 and now 2010.
Guinea will kick off their African Cup of Nations qualifiers early September. They are in Group B alongside Nigeria, Madagascar and Ethiopia.
