Benin Republic Appoint Jean-Marc Nobilo As New Coach - Report

The French tactician is the new man in charge of the Squirrels…

After declining to renew the contract of Brazilian-born coach Jose Paulo Rubim for financial reasons, the Benin Football Federation (FEBEFOOT) have found a more convenient man for the job in Le Havre Athletic Club manager Jean-Marc Nobilo.

At a press conference on Saturday in Le Havre before the Ligue 2 outfit's clash with Le Mans, the 60-year-old tactician announced his departure from the club and his new appointment as the head coach of Benin national team, according to Paris-Normandie.

Benin are preparing for the qualifiers of the 2012 African Cup of Nations to be jointly hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea. The Squirrels are in Group H alongside heavyweights Cote d’Ivoire and two East African neighbours - Rwanda and Burundi.

Benin have never qualified for a World Cup but have participated in three African Cup of Nation tournaments in 2004, 2008 and 2010.
