According to a report in Nikkan Sports, Kashima Antlers defender Lee Jung-Soo has attracted the interest of Qatari outfit Al Sadd with his strong performances for South Korea at the 2010 World Cup.
Al Sadd are looking to add some high profile names to their squad this summer. They previously signed Ivory Coast international Kader Keita from Galatasaray and they've now apparently set their sights on Lee.
The 30-year-old defender is an important first team player at Kashima Antlers, but the Japanese side are believed to be ready to cash in on Lee if a good offer comes in for the highly rated defender.
The report claims that Al Sadd are preparing a €1.3 million offer to lure the South Korea star away from his current club. Lee could sign a long-term deal with the Qatari side.
Lee became something of a national hero at the 2010 World Cup by scoring goals in the group stage games against Greece and Nigeria to help South Korea to the first knockout round.
