Tunisia’s Selim Benachour Excited National Team Return

The former PSG player says that he is happy to have been called up for his country’s May 30th friendly against France.
Malaga midfielder Selim Benachour has told RMC that he has been included in the list of call-ups for Tunisia’s friendly against France which will be played on May 30th at Rades Stadium.

“I’ve been called up for the match against France on May 30. I’ll be facing them in that friendly. Add that to Malaga’s escape from relegation and you have two pieces of good news for me this week,” he said.

Meanwhile, Benachour also added that he was happy to be called back into the side after a long absence that was partially due to his move to the Kuwaiti league and that has lasted approximately one year and a half. His main desire is to see the north African country regain their stature in continental and international competitions.

“There’s a lot of youngsters and players I don’t know in the team but the coach has called back a few veterans. I hope to help and I hope that we can get back to our 2004 level. We’ve had a tough period for the last couple of years but I hope we can rediscover the real Tunisia,” he explained.

“It’s been a year or a year and half since my last call-up. This is my country and I am very proud to be back in the national team. Hopefully I can bring my personal touch, I’m really very happy to be back. It will be the second time I face France. For a comeback there’s nothing better than facing France.”
