Five Local Coaches Eyeing Tanzania Job

Current coach Marcio Maximo's contract ends in July.

Only five Tanzanians tendered their applications for the Taifa Stars coaching job with the intent of replacing Marcio Maximo by the close of the deadline yesterday.

The interested parties are Abdulghani Msoma, Mzee Kheri, Charles Boniface Mkwasa, Abdallah Kibaden and Talib Hilal.

However, they face big threats from the likes of Young Africans head coach Serbian Kostandin Papic, Stuart Peace of England and Brazilian Marcos Tinoco who all have an eye on the post.

Speaking to The Citizen, the TFF secretary general, Fredrick Mwakalebela said the screening exercise would get underway in a couple of days.

"The exercise will begin soon....we'll be very careful when conducting screening because we want to recruit the best trainer who will take us to the highest point," the outspoken secretary said.

Since Maximo's arrival in the country three years ago, he has managed to uplift standards at the national level.
