Algeria Coach Names Squad For Serbia Encounter

Rabah Saadane has called up 20 players for his team’s friendly against Serbia on March 3.

According to Al Heddaf, Algerian national team coach Rabah Saadane has called up 20 players for the Fennecs’ March 3 friendly against Serbia which will be played at the July 5 Stadium in Algiers. The most talked about new recruit on the list is undoubtedly Racing Santander’s Mehdi Lacen who has finally agreed to join the North Africans after a long period of hesitation.

Meanwhile, other notable additions are that of AEK Athens’ Rafik Djebbour and Mainz’s Chadli Amri, both of whom missed out on the Africa Cup of Nations.

Meanwhile, both goalkeeper Faouzi Chaouchi and midfielder Khaled Lemmouchia have missed the cut. Saadane is said to be unimpressed with how Chaouchi reacted in his team’s AFCON semi-final match with Egypt during which he was sent off and was also displeased with Lemmouchia’s indiscipline that resulted in him leaving Angola early.
