Nigerian Premier League side, Enugu Rangers, have withdrawn the provisional clearance given defender Chinedu Efugh to feature for Heartland after the Owerri club failed to pay his transfer fee.
According to naijapremierleague.com, Rangers Media Officer, Foster Chime, said the withdrawal became necessary after Heartland failed to pay the transfer fee of 3,500,000 (about $25,000) to Rangers since the beginning of the 2008-09 soccer season.
Rangers said they were disappointed Heartland did not fulfil their own part of the bargain despite all of their appeals and overtures.
Efugh has featured for Heartland in both the CAF Champions League and Nigeria Premier League after establishing himself in the first team.
Rangers maintained that the withdrawal of the player took effect from October 22, noting that Heartland will have to begin fresh negotiations for his services.
