Sami Allagui Thrilled With First International Goal

The Tunisian striker has expressed his satisfaction with having opened his goalscoring account on his birthday with the Carthage Eagles in their 4-0 dismantling of Sudan on Thursday.
Tunisian international striker Sami Allagui spoke to Mosaique FM about his joy at having finally scored his first goal in national team colors during his side’s impressive outing versus the Sudan on Thursday.

Allagui was the beneficiary of great work by Hertha Berlin’s Amine Chermiti who unselfishly offered him the ball in space when he could have easily gone for goal himself. After scoring, the Greuther Furth striker went directly to his team-mate to thank him for making the correct play.

“It’s a very happy birthday for me here in Tunis. I’ve given myself pleasure. I’m going home with the family to celebrate my debut in front of the Rades supporters. We dominated the match like we wanted to and I think our performances was superb,” he exclaimed in his post match interview.

The player opted for Tunisia in November of last year when he took part in the North African country’s goalless draw versus Ghana in Accra despite being heavily solicited by Germany given the fact that he is a dual citizen. He has been included in Humberto Coelho's 25 man roster for Tunisia's June qualifiers versus Mozambique and Nigeria.
