Patrick Liewig Takes Over At Stade Tunisien

The Franco-Swiss coach has agreed to a three year deal with the Bardo based side.
Patrick Liewig has accepted a three year contract offer from Stade Tunisien after a meeting with club officials on Tuesday. The former ASEC Mimosas coach will take over from Mahmoud Ouertani, who will become the team’s sporting director for next season.

Liewig will begin his new job with the side that finished 6th in the Tunisian league while playing an entertaining brand of football on June 8. The coach will seek to add consistency to a side that was unable to progress in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The new manager will be a welcome addition considering his fine coaching record in Africa, where he guided ASEC to three championships and three cups in Cote d’Ivoire before he was sacked following their loss to Monomotapa of Zimbabwe in the CAF Champoins League.
